This past Saturday, my MoVernie Crew and I were invited to the House of VR Grand Opening Party. The “VR” stands for “Virtual Reality“. It’s a 2-floor building, located at 639 Queen Street West (Queen/Bathurst).
House of VR is quite possibly the first venue that combines virtual reality, lounge, arts & culture together in Toronto. It’s a spot that allows peeps to try a long list of virtual reality games, while hanging out with friends, family, co-workers or date night, etc. It’s definitely a cool concept and will definitely create a buzz around the city with its high-tech equipment and allows us to see the future in the virtual reality perspective.
From the outside looking in, you could see the futuristic, colourful entrance. It’s artsy and unique. It’s also very inviting and it makes you wonder what’s inside. The best part? There is a room filled with colour pillows, a futuristic semi-circular chair and a table and sofa, it feels like a futuristic, modern comfy living room. And you can play games in this room while watching people and streetcars goes by through the large bay windows.
Inside, there are a number of VR gaming stations. All the VR gears including goggles, audio head phones, filming and television monitors are all setup for your VR experience. Peeps can take turns trying different VR games while your friends could grab a nice drink, chatting and catching up, or watching you killing the zombies on the TV screen.
House of VR will definitely be the new hotspot in Toronto and I highly recommend you to check it out and experience yourself and see the future in the VR way!
The House of VR’s grand opening was on Saturday, May 6 and is now open to the public.
