Many of you know how much I love driving! The joy of driving a car along the twisty roads, listening to the sound of the clutch switching gears and its engine sound makes me happy. In particular, I love convertible as I love the open air, love the sunshine and feel the fresh air. The best part? Seeing the blue sky and white clouds through the open air (watch the video below as it shows you how quickly the roof is being displaced).
Mazda Canada was very kind to provide me with its 2019 Mazda MX-5 RF for my Port Hope Press Trip. Mazda MX-5 RF is a nice 2-seater with power retractable roof in a nice matte white body paint. It’s a quick little pocket rocket paired with a nice manual gearbox. New for 2019 model year is its larger horsepower output, up from the outgoing model of 155 hp to the new 181 hp. The outgoing engine with 155 hp was already super quick since the MX-5 RF is a 2-seater light weight vehicle. But now with the 181 hp, the car is even more quicker, with great torque for good acceleration on the highway speed which it lacks prior with the 155 hp engine, so this is super good news for car enthusiast.
Port Hope, Ontario is only about 1.5 hour from the Toronto GTA, so it’s a nice short drive. Port Hope has lots of nice landscapes, forests, rivers, trees along the drive. In particular, it has lots of nice twisty and winding roads that are best to showcase how good the handling of this Mazda MX-5 RF is capable of. It’s super fun to drive along the roads when it’s open air and no traffic jam in Port Hope. This car hugs the road in excellent fashion.
During our Port Hope Press Trip, we stayed at Moonlight & Pines B&B and the route to get there requires us to drive through twisty curvy roads which was perfect to test drive this car. We got to see all the beautiful trees along the Ganraska Forest. It’s such a treat to drive to the B&B. And one of the activities we did was visiting the Tickle Creek Farm for horse back riding. Again, we drove through little hills, slopes and farms, it was such a treat to drive this car around in open air.
If you are looking for a place to enjoy cruising your car and a short drive to enjoy a nice mini weekend away, Port Hope is a destination for you. While you are there, be sure to check out the downtown Port Hope, there are tons of great sightseeing spots for your social media photos. For example, a MUST VISIT is the Primitive Designs, you will be fascinated by its artistic artwork and its products.
