At the Drive Festival this past weekend, both Hyundai Canada and Nissan Canada had their own respective tents filled with its latest lineup of vehicles on displays for eventgoers to check out their products.
In fact, they also allow event goers to test drive some of their current line up of vehicles on the test track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. You have to register at the booth in order to test drive but that’s easy peasy registration process.
In particular, the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier pickup truck got my attention coz I really thought the old Frontier has been discontinued since I don’t see many on the road anymore. But as I googled and dig deeper. Apparently, the aging Frontier is still available to purchase at the dealerships. However, Nissan has finally decided to replace by the brand new 2022 model. Wow! We are talking about a product that Nissan is still selling the aging mid-size pickup for the past 17 years without any make over since 2004. That is very rare that a brand hold on to a model for that long without updating it or discontinue it.
The picture below is what the old Nissan Frontier looks like and you can read more about the outgoing model here.
Now, check out the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier in trim level “Pro-4X” below. I have to say, in my opinion, it isn’t much special for the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier either. From afar, it just looks like any other pickup already on the road, it pretty much looks like a Chevrolet or Ford pickups especially if you are looking at it from the back. Anyhow, it does look more rugged, muscular and capable to do some strong hauling.
I did dig the orange Nissan logo making it stands out a bit more from the muddy grey body paint.
The 2022 Nissan Frontier boasts a 3.8-liter, 6-cylinder engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It pumps out 310 horsepower and has towing capacity of 6,720 pounds, the starting MSRP at $39,998.
