House Of Gourmet 满庭芳 is one of the OGs Chinese restaurant in Chinatown, Toronto, Canada. They have been in business for so many years, in fact, over decades after decades.
It’s a main stable for me to eat there whether as an University student, after clubbing, or just wanted lunch or late afternoon snack. They offer so many variety of food items from congee, wonton noodles, Chinese BBQ to dinner combos.
Moreover, I appreciate this restaurant more and more as many Chinese restaurants in Chinatown are closing down coz many don’t have their sons or daughters wanting to continue with the family business. Or post pandemic, many existing Chinese restaurants don’t want to open late night anymore, but instead close early like 10:00 PM. So, finding a Chinese restaurant opening in the wee hours are hard to come by and I am glad House Of Gourmet 满庭芳 opens late, at least til midnight or 1:00 AM depending on the day of the week.

Overall, it’s super good value deal when we ordered a 3-Dishes Combo at $48.99 CDN + tax. We ordered an extra dish of Singapore Vermicelli to complement the rest of the 3 dishes.

Moreover, each dinner combo comes with complimentary “Old Fire” Chinese soup. Normally, most Chinese restaurants will offer the a big bowl of soup and then scoop them into each individual smaller bowls. At House Of Gourmet 满庭芳 , they serve it in 3 individual relatively mid-size bowls, which was unexpected good surprise!
I highly recommend this restaurant, good portion, tasty food, comfort food, good pricing and open late.
