2024 AJAC Canadian Car of the Year: Category Winners – Media Day – CIAS 2024

One of the highlights every year during the Media Day at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) is the announcement of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) winners for various categories.

The group of finalists for each category were announced a few months prior and the actual winners were announced at Media Day CIAS.

Canadian Car of the Year Awards (CCOTY)

Under a new format for 2024, the CCOTY Awards have been classified into 4 categories:

1. Canadian Car of the Year – Toyota Prius
2. Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year – Toyota Grand Highlander
3. Canadian Electric Car of the Year – Genesis Electrified G80
4. Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year – Genesis Electrified GV70

All 2024 model-year vehicles are eligible for the CCOTY Awards if they are newly designed or recently refreshed and can be carried over from last year.
