Keung’s Restaurant 強記雞粥 at Kennedy location has some great daily special. Each day, there is one dish that is at discounted prices.
Based on the menu, the requirement is….you have to spend over $15+ CDN (before tax) before you can order this special dish of the day. Moreover, it’s one order per table. And it MUST be dine-in only (no take out).
As you can see from the photo, there are no daily specials during the weekend coz usually on the weekend, it’s jam packed of people, so they don’t need to offer any specials during the weekend. However, during other slow weekdays such as Mondays or Tuesdays, there are some good deals.
For example, today we ordered the Monday special which is free range steam chicken on rice in a clay pot for just $10.95 CDN. Normally, this exact same dish is $16.95 CDN. Steam free range chicken is usually our family MUST ORDER, this is our 1st time trying the chicken in clay pot and the rice was so tasty. There was the crispy layer of rice and inside there were some small chunks of taro to add flavour and texture.
Adding the ginger and green onion sauce it’s super tasty. Although it doesn’t offer half of the chicken like we normally ordered, this clay pot pretty much offered 2/3 portion of a half chicken, so it’s still pretty good portion still. I highly recommend this Monday special.
