We had dinner at Luna Private Banquets 金樽覧月 and we luv it, so we decided to come and try its dim sum.
Since this time around we only had 3 people, they guided us to a central big banquet room that sits about 15 individual tables. The experience was still amazing as it’s still very semi-private with a washroom located for us in this big banquet room.
From looking at the dim sum menu, I was impressed that some of these items are categorized here as “Medium” when other wannabes Chinese restaurants try to hustle by categorizing the same item as “large”. Thus, although the dim sum pricing may be positioned as a higher end dim sum pricing, when the same item is “large” at other wannabe high-end restaurants, it become good value here at Luna when they priced it as “medium”.
Siu Mai and Har Gao here offers 5 pieces which normal Chinese restaurants offer the typical 4 pieces. It’s a win already with 5 pieces here at Luna.
My dad was impressed with the high quality of tea here at Luna. He said there were more tea leaves and flavours here at Luna. So at $2.80 CDN per person for tea, it’s worth it!
We will definitely come back to try some other dim sum. Quite honestly, they offer many unique creative dim sum items that aren’t available at other places. For example, salted egg yolk scallop dumplings, or oven baked seafood mini pies.
