1st Impression: 2026 Genesis G70 2.5L Turbo AWD

This week, the MoVernie Team is test driving this 2026 Genesis G70 2.5L Turbo AWD sport sedan. In case if you don’t know, Genesis is the luxury division of Hyundai, the popular Korean car brand.

G70 is the smallest sedan in the Genesis lineup with G80 and G90 the bigger siblings if you are looking for something bigger.

In this MoVernie BLOG, the focus is my 1st impression when I picked up the keyfob with this 2026 Genesis G70. I have to say, I really like the looks. It looks good in all angles, whether you are checking it out from the front or the side or the back, this G70 looks so damn good. It’s so attractive to the point that I am anxious to get inside the cabin and ready to drive it off.

What stands out for me was the double horizontal lights on the front and the double horizontal rear lights at the back. It felt like the Genesis design team wants to align the front and rear lights in a consistency design language. Along with the big grill in the front, this design reminds me of a Bentley (a British luxury brand). Even the Genesis logo reminds me of a Bentley. And that’s a good thing. If Genesis goal is to make its products look luxurious and high-end, they have definitely did a great job.

Moment I walked inside the cabin, it was another “Wow!” with the black and beige colour combo. I luv the lines and the patterns on the seats and side panels of this G70. It looks and feels good. However, the 1st thing I noticed when I was taking photos of the rear seats, it’s a bit cramped on the back, and I am not even 6 foot tall. I am scratching my head a bit coz the front hood looks long and the rear looks a bit massive, the length of this G70 is quite long, so why are the rear seats cabin so small? I don’t get it. Anyways…..

As for the 1st impression of the driving experience? This ride has a fast take-off and very smooth ride.

Stay tuned on my media product review of this 2026 Genesis G70 2.5L Turbo AWD later this week when we have more time On the MOVE with this ride.
