Salt + Ash – Coastal Fare & Live-Fire Cooking – Downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada [HALIFAX TRAVEL SERIES]

0

Welcome to Salt + Ash, an all-new restaurant located at the waterfront Halifax that just opened 3 weeks ago! And @saltash.hfx has been the talk of the town everywhere we go.

The concept is simple, it combines familiar coastal fare and live-fire cooking under one roof providing a relaxing and comfy place for peeps to enjoy a round of pizza and beers but yet special enough for a steak & seafood dinner, with the warm and cozy fireplace overlooking the beautiful waterfront.

As you can see from this pic, you can see the wood fire stove cooking up some delicious dishes using high quality, local ingredients to deliver simply prepared dishes that showcase the best of Nova Scotia.

Special thanks to @saltash.hfx + @freehandhospitality for the invite and having us to experience this brand new place.

Let’s get the evening started with some nice cocktails!

We were impressed that all of these cocktails were priced reasonably at $12 CDN coz many bars in Downtown Halifax easily charging from $14-18 CDN.

With such amazing ambience and cozy vibes, this is definitely the NEW HOTSPOT.

Dinner Food Items: What we ate!

When in Halifax, you got to order seafood, but in particular, need to try the famous Digby Scallops that are being caught just a few hours from Halifax.

Cedar Plank Scallops – Wood Fire Cooking
(crispy sage, cauliflower, grapes, capers)

Lobster A La King Wood Fired Pizza

You may have tried a wholesome steam lobster or stir fry lobster, but….have you ever had Lobster Pizza before?

This Lobster A La King wood fired pizza was by far our favourite dish.

It’s creamy with big chunks of lobster meat with a nice tasty crust. This is a MUST ORDER!

Kitchen Party – 16oz Strip Loin

it’s a Kitchen Party for two or the table or depends on your appetite.

So ..what’s your appetite right now?

16oz strip loin – steak stuffed onion, chunky fries & peas.

Grilled Haddock + Clams

kelp tartare, couscous, sea buckthorn, jerk spice
