Banh Mi Le Anh is a nice simple Vietnamese Sandwich place that recently opened in Markham, Ontario.
This place is meant for people to come in, order take out to eat at home or elsewhere. It’s not meant to dine here as it offers NO counter space or tables or chairs.
It’s modern, brightly lit, clean.
We ordered the $5 CDN (including tax) cold assorted cut Banh Mi sandwich. We asked to be spicy so they added the chopped peppers into the sandwiches.
The 2 staff were hardworking, efficient and fast.
Length of the sandwich is typical similar than other places. It’s ok spicy but not super spicy for my tastebuds. Enough cold cut meat.
However, the bread is doesn’t feel fresh, not sure if it’s sitting there for a long while or what but it’s not crispy, a bit chewy and hard to tare it down. I prefer other Vietnamese places such as Banh Mi Viet Nam inside Century Plaza or the Peachtree Food Court across from here that offers fresher bread and crispier outside and less dough than here. Again, it’s just a personal preference.
However, $5 including tax for a Banh Mi is possibly the main reason to attract foodies for a quick bit.
I don’t see any cashier machine at all at this place, so they most likely expect patrons to pay by cash.
I noticed they also sell some pre-made rice rolls and spring rolls, perhaps I will order some next time to give it a try. They also have a variety of cold beverages from Vietnamese coffee to fruity drinks so I may want to try those next time as well!
