IPW 18: Closing Ceremony – Red Rocks Amphitheatre (OneRepublic Live Concert) – Denver, Colorado

0

Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver, Colorado is an iconic concert venue space. Lots of famous musicians performed there. So….what’s so special about this place? Well….Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a rock structure near Morrison, Colorado which is located about 10 miles west of Denver and the concerts are performed in the open-air amphitheatre.

IPW 18 organizer had chosen Red Rocks Amphitheatre to be the closing ceremony spot for the IPW 18. And guess what? Home grown and international well-known band, “OneRepublic” was the performer. I had to tell you, I was super excited a few weeks when it was announced that OneRepublic is going to perform.

As the tour bus picked up the attendees at various hotels locations, with a short drive of about 30 minutes, we had arrived at the Red Rocks. What so special about Red Rocks was how beautiful and breathtaking the venue was. It was outdoor, surrounded by nothing but natural landscape, tons of mountains and there weren’t any big shopping centres, houses or tall buildings, just the Red Rocks. Nothing beats out an outdoor concert while watching the clear dark sky filled with bright stars.

As we walked into the Red Rocks, there was a gift shop, dining area, patio area, food stations and bar stations were everywhere to provide us with food and drinks prior to the concert. After our tummy was full, we went to find our seats. For this event, you can basically sit anywhere you want. Most often peeps would like to sit as close to the stage as possible especially if the concert is free. However, with this iconic Red Rocks, it’s actually better to sit in the mid-section of the venue, so that I could see the entire stage and also be able to witness the Red Rocks glow in the lights and watch the stars in the sky. If I sit too close to the stage, then I wouldn’t be quite able to see the iconic Red Rocks beside me.

As the sky got darker, the stage began to light up and Ryan Tedder (lead singer for the OneRepublic) began to perform. After a few songs, Ryan welcomed everyone to Red Rocks and Denver, Colorado.

There were many great moments during this OneRepublic concert and here they are.

  • Watching the Red Rocks beside my peripheral and while watching OneRepublic performed
    .
  • Free beer at the concert? Are you kidding me? Remember the expensive beer we have to purchase whenever we go to the concert? Not this event, it’s free, the feeling of ordering beer without the need to pull out any money was such an awesome feeling
    .
  • Watching the clear sky with bright stars and listening to OneRepublic “Counting Stars
    .
  • When Ryan Tedder welcomed us to their concert and told us that they thought they were performing in front of a selected group of about 1000 people. Instead, he didn’t know IPW is this big of an organization and performed in a full house, jam packed group of IPW guests. That was truly memorable

OneRepublic put a great show and to be able to watch them live in their own backyard was an unforgettable experience. This IPW 18 Closing Ceremony at the Red Rocks was a genius idea and one of my favourite IPW events ever!
