The totally all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5 made a “Global Reveal” this morning and we are delighted to showcase to our followers what it looks like.

From the photos, videos and materials provided by Mazda Canada, at first glance, I like the looks of the all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5. It’s still have the resemblance of the outgoing model, it’s futuristic, upscale, stylish and timeless.

I know many followers complained that the new CX-5 doesn’t look dramatically different but quite honestly, I wasn’t expecting Mazda designers to do anything drastic anyway coz CX-5 has been on the market for a very long time, yet it doesn’t look old, it was timeless, it’s still one of the popular vehicles on the market, so why mess that up?

Also, people are disappointed that Mazda didn’t offer any 6-cylinder engine or more power to the new CX-5 but instead, Mazda will still offers the 2.5L natural aspirated 4-cylinder engine pumping out 187 hp. Quite honestly, it’s a very proven engine and it’s a good balanced engine with good enough power and torque for your daily commute. Just like many other brands, such as Honda for example, they use the same engine for their new Civic, they didn’t build an all-new gas engine for their Civics. If the engine is proven to be reliable and most of the focus is for R&D into the electric vehicle world, most companies opted to stick with whatever works for cost effectiveness purposes.

As always, the signature soul red body paint looks amazing on this 2026 Mazda CX-5!

One of the biggest pros about this new model is more leg room due to the more length to the new model and more storage trunk space which many customers complained on the outgoing model, so that’s a major plus!

Personally, two things that I am not really a fan of is 1) Ditching the Mazda logo with “Mazda” lettering on the back of the rear design as well as on the steering wheel. Many companies work so hard to make people remember their brands and products that finally they succeed, they want to put a logo so that people still recognizes their brands. ONLY companies who are new or lack marketing awareness that they need to stick with their names on their products so people know it’s made from that particular company.

Anyhow, it’s really a subjective thing, perhaps it’s just me, perhaps you like the lettering over the logo. Let me know your thoughts.

Second thing that I didn’t like is the lack of physical knobs and controls on this 2026 CX-5. Mazda ditched those physical controls for a cleaner look. Many buttons are included in the infotainment system that you will have touchscreen on it. I prefer both options of using the touch screen or physical controls. I think it’s a safety hazards where when my eyes are on the road, I can still feel the knobs and turn them to adjust temperature or other functions. When it’s touch screen, my eyes are off the road and constantly have to swipe to find the right feature. That’s not good.

I think it’s a step backward by Mazda as many other companies start ditching physical knobs and we praised how amazing Mazda kept those controls. Now, they join the rest of other brands without the physical controls. SMH.

Remember when Honda ditched physical controls with its new Civic? After listening to the customers, they decided to bring back the control knobs. I would not be surprised if Mazda will go back to control knobs a few years down the road since that’s what their customers want.

What are your thoughts on this all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5? Let me know. I want to hear from you!
