The 165th King’s Plate at Woodbine Racetrack is being held on Saturday, August 20, 2024. It’s one of the biggest annual event here at Woodbine.
Last year, our MoVernie Team got to experience the first ever King’s Plate after it changed from the Queen’s Plate.
People dress to impress, the hat game was strong! It’s more than just a horse race with people enjoying food & drinks, listening to live music. Whether you are a die-hard horse racing fans or casual fans or a rookie who have never been to a horse racing before, no one judges. Everyone is welcome!

As I am checking out its website, there are so many spots you can enjoy the horse races. In particular, there are various specialty lounges:
- Paris Texas Clubhouse
- Hats & Horseshoes Party
- Paddock Rooftop Party
- Stella Artois Terrace
Just to name a few, I am sure there are other hidden gems and cool spots throughout the entire building.

I learned so much about horseracing via covering various Woodbine races. Every year, there are many horse races being held here at Woodbine Racetrack, with the King’s Plate being the biggest ones, but there are a number of races in the fall season that are as significant as the King’s Plate.
