Back in February 2022 on my 1st Press Trip to Houston, Texas, one of the most unforgettable meals that I ate was at Lucille’s. It has a modern takes on Southern classics served in a cozy, vintage house.

And this time around on my 2nd Press Trip to Houston, I was super glad that my MoVernie team members, Steven and MoKenny were able to join me to indulge the amazing food here at Lucille’s. It’s nice to be back!

Last time I came, we were sitting upstairs trying a various number of its brunch options. This time around, we were having dinner at the ground floor, so it’s cool to try different dining experience here.

About Lucille’s:

Based on its website, “Co-founded in August 2012 by brothers Chris and Ben Williams, the restaurant is a tribute to the culinary tradition begun by their great-grandmother, Lucille B. Smith, who was an educator, culinary innovator and successful entrepreneur who founded her own food corporation. Today, Executive Chef Chris Williams and Chef de Cuisine Khang Hoang continue to pay homage to her by replicating some of her most famous recipes while embellishing others to create innovative takes on Southern food classics.”

Hence, when you walk into this restaurant, the first thing you will notice it’s the historic brick walls, posters and pictures of Lucille B. Smith and what this restaurant is named after.

Our friendly server recommended us some of the popular cocktails being made here, so we each decided to order a different cocktails for photo opportunity and try. They didn’t disappoint as each cocktail was tasty and colourful.

We ordered a variety of dishes to share so we can all taste and try each dish. And of course, we ordered the signature shrimp & grit.
