(NOW OPEN) JOEY King Street - Toronto, Ontario, Canada

JOEY King Street restaurant is the newest location that just opened today! It’s located at the heart of the Financial District, super close to the King Street Station and literally beside the Scotia Plaza. You can enter the restaurant on street level or you can enter via the inside of the Scotia Plaza building, which is super helpful especially during the cold winter months.

JOEY King Street is the largest JOEY restaurants in North America and last night, the MoVernie Team was invited and got the taste of what this restaurant looks like at its Grand Opening VIP Event.

Moment we walked in, we knew right away this isn’t your typical casual dining JOEY restaurants. This restaurant has a luxurious, chic and stylish vibes to it with its designing cues. They have elevated the interior language at this newest location. The white marble counter tops, dim but cozy ambience, everything is just marvelous!

This space is massive. We have been walking by this space in the past and it doesn’t look big at all from the outside, but what a surprise! Once you are inside, you couldn’t stop admiring at the high ceiling and the welcoming large space. There are so many dining areas through the space. The central bar is the focal point at the front. We were told there will be a patio area come summer time.

There is also a private dining room for customers who want some more privacy especially when hosting a private dinner.

During this VIP event, we got to try many different cocktails, there were food stations for us to try some of the food in sample size. In particular, the seafood station featured a creamy broth with lobster tail meat, clams, shrimps and scallops.

At another end of the the space, there was a freshly made sushi station featuring the tempura shrimp sushi hand roll and torched sushi.

Friendly staff were roaming around also serving snack bites such as tender pork loin, gyoza, spring rolls, lettuce wraps, donuts and many more. We were impressed with how many variety of food they were serving that night that hardly get any doubles of the same dish.

The champagne tower was great for content creation when the beverage slowly sips through the mountain of glasses.

There was live performance featuring electronic violinist and saxophone.

Lastly, the General Manager of JOEY, Cody and his team surprised us with a 35-day day-aged Tomahawk steak along with the big plate of crispy potatoes and broccolini. Meat was prepared to perfection, juicy, tender and great charred.

We would like to thank the wonderful hospitality from JOEY King Street team. We highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again. It’s a perfect location accessible from the TTC King Street Station or people who lives or work around the area can just walk here. It’s a good place for a normal dinner night or before heading to a sporting or concert event.
