Palatine Hill (Rise & Fall of the Roman Empire) – Rome, Italy [ITALY TRAVEL SERIES]

Rome wasn’t built in a day. And I could see why.

On the MOVE with a Private Tour learning the rise and fall of the Roman Empire while roaming this historic site of the Palatine Hill.

This is what the Wikipedia says, “The Palatine Hill  is the centremost, is one of the most ancient parts of the city and has been called “the first nucleus of the Roman Empire.” The site is now mainly a large open-air museum while the Palatine Museum houses many finds from the excavations here and from other ancient Italian sites.

I am amazed of all the historic buildings and architectures that are still intact and preserved to allow us to learn and appreciate the hard work these ancient people did to build this powerful empire.

MoVernie TIP: Please bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreens, bottle of water and comfy shoes when going on this Palatine Hill tour. Whether you are going on your own or with a private tour, there are lots of walking, stairs, steps to go up and down different parts of the historic site. There ain’t many spots with shades, so you are out in the open lots.

Another MoVernie TIP: There are multiple water stations around the site and we found 2 water stations at the top of the Palatine Hill. Surprisingly, the water coming out of the pipes was some of the most refreshing and best water that I have ever drank, so bring a reusable water bottle to fill up. Remember, stay hydrated!
