Hey Peeps!
A few months ago, I posted about the Grand Opening of the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto with its casino and restaurants.
Then a few weeks later, I posted about the hotel being opened.
And this last piece of the puzzle – The Theatre is now ready for a sneak preview!
First, we were greeted by friendly staff who welcomed the VIP guests into the theatre. Along the hallway, we saw a bar station located right outside the theatre. We were given beverage vouchers at the check-in so we redeemed our drinks so we can enjoy the concert while sipping the ice cold.
This brand new venue space is built to host future live concerts and other types of entertainment. From what I saw, there is a huge empty standing space at the front of the stage. Now, I don’t know if it’s meant to be setup like this when the real live concert is happening, is it like the usual rock concert pit or standing space? Or will there be seats being installed when the real concert is happening? I just don’t see if being all standing as most guests who goes to the casino often or dining or staying at the hotel aren’t young guns, so I would think most guests would prefer a seating arrangement. (will need to ask the organizer at a later time to find out as I am curious).
Let us show you a glimpse of what this theatre looks like.
It has 2 levels of seats, one on the ground floor and the 2nd level right above the ground seating. FYI – The organizer blocked off all the seating so I wasn’t able to walk around to experience the vintage point of each seat, however, this 5000 seat venue space is cozy and intimate enough that I am sure every seat would be awesome.
Of course, we can’t wait to get into one of the seats and watch and listen to a show to get a real overall experience.
One thing that I really like was the light fixtures located on each stairway, this is a very thoughtful idea as it’s important for concertgoers to see where they are going when the concert is ongoing and it’s relatively darker.
I did managed to get close to the 1st row of the seats so that I feel the texture. The seat covering is in blue, it looks like it’s waterproof in case someone spill drinks all over, you fold it down, the seat will become a seat with the arm rest ready for you to lean on. But when you get up, the seats will be folded back in vertical position to allow more space for people to walk across the row of seats.
And yesterday, the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto invited a small group of VIP Guests, including me & MoKenny to check out this venue with a Private Performance by Valley – a Juno Nominated Band to give us a taste of what it’s like to enjoy a live concert here.
The band has great vocals, and good music. In particular, I recognized this tracked called “Break For You” which is being played on many radio platforms. It’s an upbeat catchy song!
The band played a good 40 mins of their music and they welcomed the VIP guests and told us how grateful they were as it’s an honour for them to break ground and did a private performance here with us as a sneak preview of what it’s like having concerts here. They said “Gwen and Blake will kickoff the Grand Opening Weekend here and there will be many great concerts to come in the next decade or so.”
Valley just recently released its latest album called “Lost in Translation”.
PS – Music Legends, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will be kicking off the Grand Opening Weekend at this venue with their respective concerts next May of 2024.

NOTE: Parking at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto is FREE, it’s multi-level indoor parking with well-lit parking spaces. Another perks to visit this place that has casino, entertainment shows, restaurants and bars, hotel, you can find everything here! Sounds like a great Staycation for me!
