It’s tough being a Maple Leafs fans eh? Since 1967, when the NHL expanded from 8 teams to 12 teams, the Leafs have never won another cup, that’s 58 years and counting without a cup.
The Leafs exited the playoffs last night with a 6-1 loss at home in Toronto at the hands of the Florida Panthers.
What’s interesting is….since 2013, the Leafs have entered 8 game 7s and they lost all 8 series. More mind boggling is that Leafs Austin Matthews, Morgan Rielly, Mitch Marner and William Nylander were part of 7 of the Game 7 series loses. How on earth is that possible? Numbers don’t lie so these 4 core players lost 7 of the game 7s, they have never won one sudden death series to get to the next round. Is this a curse or these core group just don’t have the “IT” factor to get to the next level?
MoVernie QUESTION: How are you feeling about your beloved Maple Leafs? Do you think we will ever witness another Stanley Cup in our life time?
