As a delegate at the IPW19, one of the mandatory requirements for each delegate is to sign up for a Sunday Media Tour. There were a number of different tours that each delegate can choose from. Since I am a huge foodie, I chose the IPW Culinary Foodie Tour. And I was so glad that I chose this foodie tour and it was definitely a great choice. The reason? We got to visit 2 amazing restaurants in a sit down setting, having a 5-course meal along with different signature beverages. That was heaven!
The restaurants we visited are called “Urbana” and “The Blind Rabbit“, both are located inside the historic Anaheim Packing House. Urbana is a Mexican restaurant serving good tacos, tequila and specialty cocktails. The Blind Rabbit is a Speakeasy bar with a secret hidden entrance.
Let’s talk about the Anaheim Packing House! The Anaheim Packing House was formerly a Sunkist citrus-packing facility that was built in 1919. However, it was later abandoned for decades and until recently, the building has been reborn into a multi-story food hall, with entertainment spaces for live music and events.
Inside the revitalized Packing House, you will see 20+ upscale food stalls serving high quality food and beverages from different ethnics. You could order Chinese food, Mexican food, Japanese food, Korean food, Indian food and much more. You can also buy kitchen decors, home accessories at various local stores. I got enjoy some live acoustic music during my visit there.

The Blind Rabbit, what is it? No, it’s not eating rabbit meat. Instead, it’s a hidden Speakeasy bar that serves signature cocktails and food in an unexpected secret room inside the Anaheim Packing House. Check out how secretive The Blind Rabbit at this link here.
After spending a few hours tasting different drinks and food at both Urbana and The Blind Rabbit, we were given a voucher to order our own Hans Homemade Ice Cream. What a feast! What a dining experience! I was told that in the past, there were many packing houses. But they were either abandoned, demolished or forgotten. Anaheim Packing House is the only packing house left standing in Anaheim. Thus, it’s historic and it’s very important in the Anaheim community.
