Today, Team Canada Men’s Basketball has unveiled the roster that will be representing Canada for this summer’s 2024 Paris Olympics.
The roster comprised of many current NBA players led by all-star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the OKC Thunders and 2023 NBA Champion Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets.
This is by far one of the best ever roster for Canada Men’s Basketball.
I think many of us can erase the past narratives where we often think Canada don’t stand a chance on the podium with our past rosters that doesn’t have many NBA players and the programs that Team Canada ran back then weren’t as strong as now. In the past, as fans, we were used to think, “It’s nice Canada participates and it’s nice to be there” and that’s it.
Now, our mentality is different, we know Canada has a chance to win gold or at least a shot at a medal in the Olympics. It’s amazing how well-established our Men’s Basketball program flourish in the past 6-8 years or so and we are only going to get stronger with more younger generation wanting a chance to make it in the NBA.
As a Canadian, I am very proud of our team. This is a team to watch at this year’s 2024 Paris Olympics.
