Bayfront Park – Sarasota, Florida

0

Bayfront Park is one of the most visited spots in Sarasota, Florida. It has a beautiful view of the Bayfront. I would recommend you to take a relaxing walk along the shore. You will see lots of yachts and boats parking along the shore. Some people likes to kayak around the shore as well.

As you can see from the photo above, it’s the famous “Unconditional Surrender Statue” located at the Bayfront Park. You can’t miss this coz it’s located at a very prominent spot. This statue is inspired by the iconic Times Square photograph taken at the end of the World War II. And I must say, it’s a very good photo opportunity. This statue is very popular across the United States as I seen something similar in quite a number of spots around the country. For example, I seen this statue when I was visiting Keywest, Florida, as well as recently in San Diego, California, where it was located near the USS Navy Ship.

Here is a great article about this particular Sarasota V-J Day Statue.

MoVernie Recommendation: In my other MoVernie BLOG about the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, I recommend anyone to park their car at the Bayfront parking lot or perhaps begin the slow walk along the Bayfront and then slowly make your way to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. It’s relaxing, the view is great and it’s a good exercise to see the shoreline and the botanical garden. And depends on your walking speed and physical conditions, I say it’s about 20-30 minutes walk to the botanical garden, which is not bad.
