Cajun Kitchen – Vietnamese Fusion Seafood Cuisine [HOUSTON TRAVEL SERIES]

0

Back in February 2022 on my 1st Press Trip to Houston, Texas, one of the most unforgettable meals that I ate was at Cajun Kitchen. I luv the simple, casual setting of the restaurant and the amazing fresh seafood dishes with Vietnamese Fusion inspired culinary experience. It was so good that when my team and I came to visit Houston for our 2nd Press Trip, I requested to Houston First Tourism Board that I would like to come back to dine at Cajun Kitchen. And I wanted MoKenny and Steven to experience the amazing food here at Cajun Kitchen.

And the 2nd visit a Cajun Kitchen didn’t disappoint, it was once again super delicious. Cajun Kitchen, why are you so good!

It was so nice to see Owner/Chef John again as he came and greeted us and recommended some of the dishes that he would like us to try.

We started off the night with a nice bottle of Korean Soju alcoholic drink. Kampai!

Here are a list of the amazing delicious food we ate here at Cajun Kitchen.

Scallop Crudo with Caviar

Live Maine Scallop served crudo style (sashimi) with yuzu kosho sauce, crispy shallots, micro herbs and caviar.

This was by far my favourite dish to eat here during my 1st Press Trip and my 2nd Press Trip. I just luv how fresh the scallops were and each time, I could taste the scallops and the caviar was a nice touch. So good!

Grilled Japanese Scallops

6 fresh Japanese scallops grilled with scallion butter, crispy shallots, caramelized onion sauce and wasabi caviar

Garlic Butter Razor Clams

Live Maine razor clams with garlic butter and nam jim sauce.

Coconut Sauce with Sea Snails

Clams with Thai Basil Broth

Louisiana Crawfish

Houston is located very close to Louisiana region so when crawfish are in-season, it’s always a good choice to order some fat juicy crawfish to eat. The traditional crawfish is being prepared with Cajun spice. But for the Vietnamese Style, the chef uses the spice with garlic, green onions along with the chopped white onions. Taste so good!

Wholesome Dungeness Crab with The Kitchen Special Sauce

This Kitchen Special Sauce is definitely the secret sauce, it has a nice heat and spicy to it but also a bit of citrusy with orange peel flavour to it.

I highly recommend you to check out Cajun Kitchen the next time you are visiting Houston. I will definitely come back again and again as that’s how much I luv the food being served here.

Our dining experience during this press trip was provided by Houston First. However, as always, the opinions expressed in this post is entirely my own.
