Dundurn Castle – Historic National Site – Hamilton, Ontario, Canada [ONTARIO TRAVEL SERIES]

Dundurn Castle is a historic mansion located on York Boulevard in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The 1,700-square-metre house took three years to build, featuring 40 rooms and was completed in 1835.

Every time when I googled about top things to do & see in Hamilton, the Dundurn Castle pops up, but I just haven’t got a chance to check it out until now. I have to say, why is it called the “Castle” when it’s more like a mansion? I don’t get that part.

Anyways, I finally got a track to check this place out from the outside since during the pandemic, the inside tour is closed. This castle is definitely a great spot for people to take photos and videos as it’s photogenic and has a nice spacious space.

I do have to say that it does have this eerily vibe to the structure and the overall surrounding. It’s located across a cemetery and it just has this uneasy vibe to it, but it is a cool spot to explore and roam around the property. And there is a bridge near it that you can see from the view of Hamilton. It’s a cool spot.
