Honda Canada has been pumping lots of new products lately including this all-new 2023 Honda CRV EX-L trim. This is a gas engine model as for the 1st time in Canada, Honda is offering a Hybrid model as well. We are doing this back-to-back test drive between this gas engine EX-L vs Hybrid version, super excited.
For this 1st week, we got to drive this EX-L. Overall, the engine is pretty much carried over from the outgoing model, the exterior is what makes a drastic change and for the better. This all-new model has a longer hood, over length is longer and wider, more cabin space and storage space. Overall, the dimension got bigger and I am sure Honda customers would luv more space.
Now, whether you like the looks or not is based on your preference. I personally like the rear design of the outgoing CRV more coz it has a very well-designed signature CRV vertical taillights and I thought the chrome added some luxurious to it. However, I am not a fan of the oval, chubby front look of the outgoing. I prefer the new version of the front view. It has a massive grill, longer hood line, giving it a more luxurious and aggressive look than its predecessor.
Once you walk into the cabin, it’s just like another latest Honda lineup, which isn’t a bad thing, as I luv the honey comb ventilation vents, bit backup camera & infotainment system coupled with the functional dashboard and steering wheel. My tester comes with the wireless phone charger which is a huge plus for me as I need my phone so much to do social media, so wireless makes the console less cumbersome and more clean.
Our tester is in Platinum White Pearl which is a classic colour and timeless. It gives the CRV a more upscale look. This is why Honda CRV is a top seller in North America especially in Canada.
So far so good with this CRV EX-L and I am enjoying the drive so far!
MoVernie FUN FACT: Did you know….Honda Canada is now offering both gas engine and hybrid options in the CRV lineup for the 1st time? In fact, Honda Canada is currently offering 8 different trim levels, there has to be one trim level that meets your needs and price range.
