German Christmas Market: Umeda Sky Building – Osaka, Japan

0

During our visit to the Umeda Sky Building in Osaka, Japan, there was a German Christmas Market right outside the building. It was totally unexpected but I was glad that we got to experience the Christmas Market.

Yes, the Japanese people also celebrates Christmas and what better way to celebrate and experience Christmas with outdoor activities at the Christmas Market. There was a mini stage at the centre of the venue space and I think they had daily live performances to entertain the crowd. By the way, it’s free admission to the Christmas Market, you just need to buy drinks and food at your own expense.

The tall Christmas tree was beautiful and decorated with lots of Christmas lights that changed colours every now and then. There were wooden houses all around the Christmas Markets, they were serving Germany sausages, Germany pastries and German beer. Some served hot chocolate and other snacks. Some vendors were selling souvenir from Germany. There was a Merry Go Around, so it’s very festive especially they were playing Christmas songs. It surely added life and good vibes at the Umeda Sky Building.

The most impressive thing about the Christmas Market? I was told by some of the vendors that the organizer flew them over from Germany, so the food, beer and the staff really gave this Christmas Market a very authentic and realistic experience. I always respect and admire the dedication by the Japanese people to try to do things as perfect as they can be.

I really enjoyed the holiday spirit at this German Christmas Market and I was so glad that I got to experience this while I was visiting Umeda Sky Building.
