MoVernie FUN Fact: Did you know….today is February 2nd and is also known as “Groundhog Day”?
This morning, Ground hog, “Wiarton Willie” from Wiarton, Ontario, did not see his shadow, thus, predicts an early spring!
Last August, when we were touring the Manitoulin Island, we decided to stay in the Lion’s Head region for a few days. So… we decided to check out the Town of Wiarton (23 mins drive), famous for Wiarton Willie.
We couldn’t see the actual ground hog during our visit as the facility was closed due to the pandemic. But it was still cool to check out this town and the Willie’s sculpture.
This year, due to the pandemic, the organizer has designed to announce the weather forecast virtually.
