Historic Raptors Christmas Game Against the Boston Celtics

0

Today, December 25, 2019 marks another historic chapter for the NBA World Champions, Toronto Raptors. Why? The Toronto Raptors will be hosting the Boston Celtics at home on Christmas Day! As many NBA fans may have known, teams that play on Christmas Day are prestige and honour as not many teams get to play on this special day.

With the Raptors being the champ, they got to be featured on this day. Christmas Day has always been very special to my family. We have our family tradition turkey dinner, made by our Chef Daddy. Then, we invite a few neighbour and friends over and we dine and wine and watch back-to-back-to-back NBA games.

So, although as a Raptors Season Ticket Holder myself, I have tickets to this game, but I opted to sell it to my good friend, whom she wanted her husband and her father to go and witness history and enjoy this game at the Scotiabank Arena. Meanwhile, I prefer to wear my comfy PJs, put my feet up and stay cozy around the fireplace and enjoy the entire day of NBA games. So, it’s a win-win situation.

MoVernie Fun FACT: Did you know….the last time the Toronto Raptors played a Christmas game was back in 2001 when Vince Carter was still with the team against the New York Knicks. Yes, that’s how far we got a Christmas game. This is why this year’s Christmas game is such a big deal!

Personally, it’s still surreal that I woke up at 10:00 am this morning and the tipoff of the Raptors Christmas game is in 2 hours at noon. I personally don’t think both teams will have a stellar performance. Think about it, the players either partied all night long last night or stuffed with turkey running around the court at a rare noon tipoff? I don’t think they will have the rhythm or the normal energy they have for this game.

Anyhow, it is a historic day for the Toronto Raptors and their fans. It’s a great honor for the team to play on Christmas Day and represent the country. To the staff who works at the Raptors game, thank you for your hardwork and being there on Christmas Day. THANK YOU!

Let’s go Raptors! We The Champs!
