Welcome to this MoVernie BLOG of “Cottage Roadtrip Series“! Recently, we were hosted by Port Franks Getaway, which is located about 2.5 hours drive from the Toronto GTA. It’s a nice drive up northeast, going through some beautiful farmlands, electric windmills and some nice scenic routes.
Port Franks Getaway offers ADULTS ONLY vacation apartments and cottages that offer spacious, bright, modern accommodations in a retreat setting.
Diane and Mike, owners at Port Franks Getaway are incredible people, they will go above and beyond to ensure that everyone’s stay are special and an enjoyable one. Port Franks Getaway gears towards a Couple Romantic Getaway, thus, there are no children or pets allow to give their guests, a peace and quiet, clam and romantic experience.
We stayed at the Romantic Studio Cottage and we felt in love! This is a paradise that is peace and quiet along with privacy. The studio cottage has a separate entrance with key code keypad which is very thoughtful as we go to hot tub or hot sauna, we sure don’t want to carry a key so a keycode is perfect! There is a nice kitchenette with high centre island with a nice high stools. The welcome champagne and snacks were a nice touch. The fireplace and the sofa along with board games kept us busy and cozy. The bathroom is clean, modern & love the comfy bathrobes.
What we love the MOST is the private hot tub and hot sauna. You booked your timeslot with the owners (just a call or text away) and you have your own intimate hot tub and hot sauna all to yourself. This setup was always there even before COVID, so during pandemic, it’s even much more appreciated not seeing other people and they have implemented safety and disinfect protocol after each guest’s use.

I highly recommend it and definitely would be back! Make sure to check out the beautiful moon glowing above the firepit. Smores and snacks made it a nice night!
