Master Chef Malatang 名厨麻辣烫 is located inside Kitchen M (HK Style Cafe). Nowadays, many restaurant owners are trying to be creative to maximize its space with 2 different types of food cuisines hoping to attract new patrons and generate businesses.

Thus, on one end inside Kitchen M, they have a new section reserved for “Master Chef Malatang” hotpot where you pick your ingredients from the shelves and then they charge you by weight and you pay extra for the broth. The server told me that you can specifically sit at that particular section to eat hotpot only or…you can sit at the Kitchen M section and order eat at Malatang as some of the people at your table may still want to order normal Kitchen M Cha Chan Tang items and some wants to try the Malatang.

Basically, I haven’t try this Malatang yet but based on the advertisement posted on its Kitchen M website, you basically use a tong and grab whatever fresh ingredients you want into a basket, then the staff will weight your food. $3.99 CDN/100 grams. I am assuming you don’t have to pay extra for the soup broth and can choose one of the 6 available soup broth for you food.

If your food weights over value of $20 CDN, they will give you a complimentary hot beverage or if you pay extra $1 CDN, you can order a cold beverage.
