I bought this plush toy at the flagship of the “Line Friends” store in Harajuku, Japan.
I called it the “Gangsta Brown”.
Based on a true story, when I was at the store called “Line Friends”, I thought the name was derived from all the lineups the Japanese people have to lineup daily for food, train, shopping, concerts and almost everything. And I thought friendships were made by these animated characters while they were lining up. Then I was told that “Line Friends” is just called “Line Friends”. There is no deep meaning to it.
I guess if I ever want to be a writer, I can come up with a great story plot.
But instead, Line Friends all started coz Line is a freeware app for instant communications on electronic devices such as smartphones, tablet computers, and personal computers. Line users exchange texts, images, video and audio, and conduct free VoIP conversations and video conferences. My followers told me that and I googled and that’s what I found. Impressive eh? These characters all started coz of electronic devices and instant communications with smartphones first.
The quality of this Gangsta Brown is impressive. The material is smooth and comfy. I am especially impressed with the attention-to-detail. The red baseball cap can hook onto the Brown’s ear and it will stay there without falling off. The hoodie jacket has a real zipper, you can zip it open and take off the hoodie and inside is a white tee for Brown. In fact, I felt the clothes for Brown are better quality than some adult clothing that I seen in my life.
Anyhow, if you ever visited Tokyo, I highly recommend you to visit the flagship of Line Friends located at the Harajuku location. It’s a multi-level building filled with Line Friends products. Products ranged from plush toys to smartphone covers, baby clothes, accessories and laptop cover and much much more.
The #1 social media spot is located right at the moment you enter the store, it’s a ginormous plush toy of the main character “Brown”. The quality of Brown is top notch. You can sit on his lap and it could support you. This store is hopp’in all the time so if you want a chance to really take a photo without anyone photo bomb your photos, I suggest you to come early in the morning or during week days when people have to go to work or school.
