(NOW OPEN) – MEDIA DAY – Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville – Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A few weeks ago, Canopy by Hilton celebrated its Canadian Debut in Toronto. And today, my guest and I were invited on Media Day to check out this this 184‑room hotel that is steps away from the iconic Yorkville and Rosedale neighbourhoods.

On Media Day, we were provided with complimentary valet parking so I drove my media fleet, 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid to the special event. As I walked through the door, a friendly staff hold the elevator door open for me and guided me to floor 2, where the hotel reception is located, as well as where the Dia restaurant is located.

Dia restaurant is super spacious with high ceilings, lots of natural lights coming through the bay windows. The 1st thing that caught my eyes was the super long and beautiful bar counter was. And those palm tree pattern looking high stools were so photogenic and stunning. The restaurant was so spacious that they had a variety of different furniture setup for the patrons to sit. There were chairs, long sofas, high tables with stools, bigger table for bigger groups or you can sit along the bar counter and chat with the mixologists, whatever works for you!

Dia restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. I personally enjoy sitting at the sofas near the fireplace. The area was cozy and warmth.

As we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by friendly staff and provided us some canapes and welcome drinks.

Then while we were taking pics and videos around the restaurant, the director of sales and other executives greeted us and gave us a hotel tour. The tour included checking out the hotel reception, the merchandize area that sells local products, swimming pool, the gym, the meeting rooms, the transfer room as well as the various hotel rooms style.

In particular, I really like this mirror reflection corridors. Along the walk, you could see the artwork on the walls as well. It’s perfect for selfies or TikTok videos.

I think 2 features offered at Canopy by Hilton that stood out to me are that…..instead of offering bottles of water, they offered complimentary water stations. They provide the guests with glasses to fill up complimentary water from the station. I wish more hotels offer this as we want to do our part to reduce plastic bottle waste plus I luv and drink lots of water, so filling up complimentary water to obey my thirst is so much appreciated.

Another feature is the “Transfer Lounge”, which is located beside the hotel reception area. Imagine you arrive at Canopy early and your room isn’t ready but you need to attend a business meeting right away and you need to freshen up. No worries, the Transfer Lounge provides the guests with lockers to lock their luggage (they have big cabinet that can store your full size luggage). The guests can take a shower, use the toilet and freshen up and get dressed and go to run errands, business meeting or do other things. Or imagine you have to check out your hotel room, but you are still around the city for a few more hours? You can use this Transfer Lounge to secure your valuable belongings plus freshen up!

We got a tour of 2 different hotel rooms styles.

After the hotel tour, we went back to Dia Restaurant and ordered some food as a group to share, so we can try more food items together.

Also check out what cocktails we had ordered.

Executive Chef Justin Raponi came out and greeted us and talked a bit about his food creations, food menu and the locally sourced ingredients. And we got to try the Cake Pop.
