So…apparently, the NBA announced a BIG news during the NBA Trading Deadline last week. The NBA itself decided to open the 1st ever NBA restaurant in the world and…it’s located right in Toronto. This will mark the 1st ever restaurant under the NBA brand to be opened in the world. I first heard about this news on social media when I followed the Waterfront BIA account, they made the post and that’s how I know about it.
My 1st impression? This is cool! Torontonians will never complain about too many sports bar (said no one ever!). I was a bit surprised that NBA decided to open a sports restaurant outside of USA first since Toronto is the ONLY NBA team outside of USA. I would think they would want to open one like in New York or Los Angeles. Nevertheless, this is great news!
But when I saw the address, 15 Queen’s Quay East, I was like, “where is this place?”. I couldn’t think of a current spot that can offer 10,000+ square feet of space coz most corporate spaces have already been taken.
Thus, I decided to make a walk myself today just to investigate and to check out where exactly is this new restaurant located. Apparently, this NBA Courtside Restaurant is located underneath a recently built condo. And that’s how they can fit a big restaurant with 10,000+ square feet of space. You can spot the Westin Harbour Hotel from across the new resto.
So…as I took a short walk around the space, everything was blocked off right now. You couldn’t see anything inside. However, I did saw a sticker signage “Early 2023” and I literally saw a staff installing the NBA Courtside Restaurant signage outside the restaurant today, so that was neat! There will be plenty of parking spaces located right next to the restaurant.
As my followers know, I am a HUGE Raptors and NBA fan, so I am excited to see what this restaurant looks like and what types of food and drinks would be served. If they open in March, it would be prefect for my birthday!
I will keep you posted when I know more INFO about when exactly this NBA Courtside Restaurant will open.
Personally, I like this concept and the brand, I hope I can visit other such NBA Courtside restaurants in other parts of the world in the near future.
