The Oscars 2017 is happening tonight. Yup, tonight is the BIG day.

Below is my MoVernie Picks on what I think will win the respective Academy Awards.

I know a lot of peeps are picking the La La Land as the big winner, but I personally think it will be all hype but not dominating. Yes, there are 14 nominations, but I think it will win its fair share of awards, but in no shape or form would I expect La La Land to sweep everything. It will win the smaller awards but I don’t think it will win the BIG ones such as the Best Picture or Best Actor, etc. Anyhow, we will see tonight!

I personally really enjoyed watching Hacksaw Ridge, starring Andrew Garfield. Based on a true story and Andrew’s performance impressed me alot. However, I don’t think he will win the Best Actor award either.

Arrival, starring Amy Adams, I was very blown away by the direction of the film, the story plot, the acting and the scenes and vibe the film built really touched me and wanting to know what happened. It’s a type of film where you need to go back and think of what you just watched and how everything pieces together to try to make some sense. I personally think Arrival, Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea will be the BIG winners at the Oscars.
