My microwave at my condo suddenly didn’t work. It looks like it got fried. When I clicked on the buttons, there were no lights, nothing is LIT or working. The breaker at the control panel tripped as well. The power outlet at the top of the hood didn’t worker. Oh boy! At the moment, I was concerned, what was the issue? The power outlet? The breaker at the control panel? Was my microwave got fried?
I called a few of my buddies to recommend an electrician. Surprisingly, none of them could offer me a solid contact. Many of my buddies either don’t have such issue or they just couldn’t find someone they know well enough to refer me.
Luckily, after I informed my dad about the situation, he told me a neighbour who lives on the same street as him is an electrician. Perhaps he could recommend somebody for me.
So, I was referred to this electrician named Paul Karageorgos. I am not going to lie, it was hard to get a hold of Paul at first and we were playing phone tag early on as he is just super busy. But I have to say, good things are worth the wait. Paul was able to resolve my microwave issue.
The moment I met Paul in person, he was courteous and polite. When he walked into my condo unit, he immediately inspected my microwave situation. He told me he once work for Sears and then he got retired. He is doing this as part-time and as a hobby. He looks to save or fix the issue and unless it’s beyond repair, he would prefer not to recommend the customers to buy a new product as a replacement coz it could be unnecessary.
Paul inspects the breaker on the control panel, then he checked the voltage on the microwave and the power outlet above the hood. He wanted to inspect everything, process of elimination to find the roots of the problem. After careful inspection and testing, he found out that it’s 2 fuses in the microwave, he checked everything, replace the 2 fuses, then power is back on the microwave. He tested with water to ensure the microwave is heating things up the proper way. He also turned on the ventilation fan to ensure the air are being sucked to the hood.
I like the fact that Paul test everything, he wanted to make sure he find the roots of the things. Even after the 2 fuses are replaced, he also check other parts of the microwave to ensure no other issues are going to fried the fuses again. He said that…if it’s not properly inspected, even replacing the 2 fuses may get fried again if the root of the cause isn’t found.
The price of showing up and replacing the parts and labour was very fair and reasonable. Paul is honest, trustworthy, skillful. I appreciate his knowledge and expertise. I learned a few things or two from him while he was fixing the issue.
I highly recommend Paul to anyone who is looking for a top quality electrician. He travels across the GTA and I would definitely hire Paul’s service again in the future. Thank you Paul. Now my microwave is back and I am super happy that I can pop some popcorn.
