Sky Dragon Chinese Restaurant 龍翔酒樓 – Spadina (Chinatown), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Sky Dragon Chinese Restaurant is a lively dim sum go-to eatery located on the 4th floor of the Dragon City Mall, serving traditional Chinese food options with a patio overlooking the beautiful city views.

I first dined at this restaurant after I did my blood work at a lab located on the 3rd floor. Since I was fasting in order to do the blood work, I was super hungry right after and since I already paid for my parking at this mall already, I decided to walk on the 4th floor to give this restaurant a try.

This restaurant has been in business for many many years, I always heard about its existence but just never got a chance to go all the way up to the 4th floor to try it.

Moment I walked in, I have to say, you could tell the building and the restaurant is aging, things seem old including the table and the chairs. But it does its job I guess.

I really find it fascinating that this resto has a nice patio overlooking our beautiful skyline. You could even spot the CN Tower from here. They have a few tables for those who wants to dine outside.

The service here was good though, the staff were friendly to me. They handed me my choice of Chinese tea and then provided me with a big Dim Sum menu that shows pics of each dish.

I ordered my favourite Har Gao (steam shrimp dumplings), Shui Mai (steam pork dumplings) + a bowl of shredded pork century egg congee + a stir fry bean sprouts ho fun.

When the dishes arrived at my table, they were big portion and I couldn’t finish them and had to ask for take out boxes. They were tasty and delicious. I really enjoyed the congee in particular as it provided some crunchy fried stuff on the top and green onions. This hot congee for $5.99 CDN + tax (large category). It’s a real deal!

Prices were decent as well as they charged you Dim Sum based on small, medium, large, extra large or special. Most Dim Sum items are reasonable at medium or large or extra large.

The steam clay pot rice was delicious as well. Spare pork ribs had a good portion of fat, meat and ribs to it with 2 pieces of Chinese greens along with large portion of hot steamy rice. The soy sauce added colouring plus incredible flavour. For $5.99 CDN + tax (large category), it’s a bargain for me.

NOTE: Whenever you go to Dim Sum, they normally charge you the tea per person. I know many wouldn’t notice until the bill arrives. But that makes sense as they specially provide a Chinese tea that you asked for and a teapot specially for you. When you go to a regular restaurant, they do charge you for a tea/coffee, same deal. Normally, they charge between $1.50 CDN/person to $2.00 CDN/person which is reasonable.
