The 7th Annual Smashfest has came to a close last night and yet again, it was another jam packed fun evening with entertainment, live music, open bar, food and a beautiful view of our iconic CN Tower. The weather was beautiful with a nice breeze. More importantly, 20+ past and present NHL players were on hand to show their support for Smashfest, the charity that raise money for rare cancer and concussion research. It was a jam packed evening for a good cause.

Founder of Smashfest, Dominic Moore thanked all the players who came out to support his charitable organization as well as thanking the attendees for purchasing tickets to help give back to the communities for a good cause.

Players such as Maple Leafs William Nylander; Mitch Marner, Zach Hyman, Connor Brown, Leafs Alumni Dougie Gilmour were on present for media interviews and meet & greet the fans. In particular, William Nylander was a hot commodity as the media wants to know his negotiations with the Maple Leafs. William stated that he wants to be back with the Leafs and wants to be a Leafs for a very long time. He is confident that his contract talks will work out with the Leafs. And Canadian tennis star, Milos Raonic made a special appearance. Instead of playing tennis, he was here to play table tennis. Milos also appeared at Smashfest a few years back, so he is a consistent supporter of this special charitable event.

Meanwhile, a reporter asked Dougie Gilmour if his veteran status will give him an advantage in the ping-pong tournament over youngsters, generating quite a few laughs.

To date, after this 7th annual Smashfest, it has raised over $865,000 in support of concussion and rare cancer research. And this total will continue to increase next year at Smashfest VIII. Smashfest VII will be held on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 @ 7:00 pm at Steamwhistle Brewery.
