Space Center Houston NASA – Houston, Texas, USA [HOUSTON TRAVEL SERIES]

Space Center Houston is a science museum that serves as the official visitor center of NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. It was designated a Smithsonian Affiliate museum in 2014.

I am sure every children will dream of visiting space, the moon or any planets in our universe and most of all, we have seen lots about NASA whether in Hollywood movies or just wanted to check out this Space Center in Houston.

It’s a dream come true for us 3 as we got to visit this Space Center. No matter what age you are in, this special place is suitable for all-ages.

I have never seen my brother so excited before as I recalled he grew up trying to learn as much as he can about space. I remembered he ordered something on space food that astronaut would eat in space.

During our visit, there was huge crowd and although there were various lineups categorized by different groups, we lucked out that we didn’t have to lineup as a representative from the Space Center came out of the building to greet us and gave up special excess since we were media and had prior appointments.

Moment we entered the building, we just said “WOW”! This place was massive. High ceiling with all the replica of space exploration vehicles hanging up high in the ceiling. All 3 of us pretty much just had our heads up high and just admire all the space vehicles.

MoVernie TIP: This place is massive! We recommend you to come here early in the morning and spend the entire day to maximize your experience here coz there just a lot of see and learn.

Unfortunately, we were On the MOVE during this Press Trip, so we couldn’t spend the entire day here, if we could, we would. So…we prioritized our schedule, we had 3 hours here so our team discussed what they wanted to see with our limited time here.

First thing first, our representative recommended us to take a tour of taking a trolley to explore other parts of the property, in particular, the warehouse that stored all the big, real space shuttles.

The best moment for me was stepping inside the big warehouse and I would see a real big size rocket ship or rocket launcher, can’t believe many of these parts look small on TV but in-person, they were actually gigantic.

MoVernie TIP: Do leave enough time for each special space buildings to visit, coz there are a number of them and you would want to spend time for each one. Also, the trolleys come every 15-20 mins but you sure wanted to know when is the next trolley to pick the next group up, coz you don’t want to be wasting time just missing the trolley that left while you are standing in the heat for the next 20 mins when you could explore more of the exhibit instead of just waiting around.

Our visit to Space Center Houston NASA during this press trip was provided by Houston First. However, as always, the opinions expressed in this post is entirely my own.

A proud moment when I saw the “Canada Robotic Arm” being on display here. When I was a kid studying science back in high school, I recalled it was a big deal when Canadians were involved in the NASA special projects.
