As I was in an Uber going from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to my hotel located in Downtown San Francisco, I spotted a Rivian EV. This one looks like a SUV style.
Quite honestly, I don’t know much about Rivian as it’s not readily available or common in Canada yet. I have never seen any Rivian on the roads in Canada just yet.
Anyhow, as I researched a little bit more on its website, Rivian labelled themselves as a company who wants to make a difference. They also called their products “Electric Adventure Vehicle”.
I believe I first saw the electric pickup truck version on social media first. It reminds me of a the Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup. The Rivian pickup is called “R1T”.
And as I found out more, the electric SUV version is called “R1S”. I don’t think I will remember these nomenclature. LOL
Anyhow, the eSUV reminds me of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
I am always a fan of more brands entering the automotive industry, the more the merrier, the more companies coming in to shake up the industry, that’s how the industry thrives and customers benefit from the better quality and technology of these new vehicles.
Perhaps I will see Rivian in Canadian soil in the near future.
