This time, our MoVernie Crew is On the MOVE to Corner Cottage, which is located in Markdale, Ontario, Canada, it is about a 2-hour drive from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
The Corner Cottage is a beautiful property that is luxurious, modern and cozy that you would want to spend as much time as you can chilling inside or outside the house. But if you would like to explore and visit the surrounding communities, below are some of the recommendations that our MoVernie Crew would highly recommend you to visit and explore.

What a hidden gem this is! It’s located in Markdale, Ontario, that is only a 8-minute drive from Corner Cottage. If you like nature and walking trails, this is the place for you. It has a wonderful lookout of the Eugenia Falls.
Eugenia Falls Conservation Area features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels to walk and exercise. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and snowshoeing and is accessible all-year-round. I highly recommend you to dress for the occasion, wear a jacket, bring water and comfy shoes.

When staying at a cottage, most people wanted to relax and have the peace & quiet. Visiting gardens helps achieve that. And the owner of Corner Cottage, Barb has her own garden that welcomes guests to visit.

In the heart of the Blue Mountain, you will find this beautiful Roost Winery and Vineyard. The cold climate allows this winery to create some of the most unique white, red and rose wines you’ll love. In fact, they have recently won awards for some of its wines.
Our MoVernie Crew took a nice short scenic drive and arrived at this beautiful open space. We luv the rustic barn house, the buildings, the open spacious outdoors. You can try the wine flights inside but we opted to chill at the outdoor patio, sipping some nice wine and indulge the charcuterie board. Oh those nice cheese! Super addictive! Once you start, you can’t stop munching. Hahaha!

If you luv craft beer, then Side Launch Brewery is a MUST VISIT! My first Side Launch beer was back in March 2021 when my buddy, Byron Kent went to ice fishing with me with his son. He pre-ordered a bunch of Side Launch for me to try and I was in luv! In particular, they have a large variety of stout selections and their stout is off the charts!
When you arrived at the brewery, it’s only a short 30 minute-drive from Corner Cottage. There is plenty of parking space, lots of patio tables and areas for you to enjoy the beer flights, buy some beer home and munch on some snacks. I must say that Side Launch is one of my favourite Ontario craft breweries. They have a large selections but more importantly, they brew good tasty beer with a smooth finish. They also have cool mix of ingredients that bring out the best flavour out of them.
Old Baldy Scenic Lookout

After taking a 15-minute hike from the parking lot at Old Baldy, you will soon reach to the edge of the Niagara Escarpment and looking down 152 metres above the Beaver Valley and the Village of Kimberley. This is a photogenic spot as it’s just magnificently breathtaking! This nature trail is only about 18-minutes from Corner Cottage. Make sure you wear comfy shoes, dress for the weather, bring some water before doing this walk.

Yes, another beautiful falls to recommend. Other than the Eugenia Falls, Hogg’s Falls is also only 8-minute drive away from Corner Cottage. Yes, if you luv chasing waterfalls, this is another hidden gem.
