Victoria Square Park – Markham, Ontario, Canada [ONTARIO TRAVEL SERIES]

During this pandemic, I often tried to find new parks and hiking trails to check out and take a walk to do exercise. It’s a great way to maintain physical distancing and doing our part to stop the spread of the COVID-19.

While I was examining the Google Map for parks in Markham and with parking spots, this piece of large green space called “Victoria Square Park” intrigues me. It’s located near the iconic landmark of Cathedraltown. I was surprised that I had visited Cathedraltown so many times and I never heard of Victoria Square Park.

What’s interesting about this Victoria Park Square is that…it stretches near the Cathedraltown and the green space stretches all the way north to Elgin Mills Road. It includes the playground, a baseball diamond, a picnic area and lots of walking routes.

MoVernie TIP: After you have explored the Victoria Square Park, check out the The Arboretum and Heritage Orchard next door. The park and the orchard are connected with a walk way from one side to the other. Different vibes, more outdoor space to exercise. I was super amazed!

This is a great neighbourhood and is still growing with new homes and condos being built around this community. I can’t stop but admire the beautiful new houses with the designs and architecture that resembles the historic Victorian Houses. Just check out the beautiful colourful front doors.
