Washington Smithsonian National Zoo [WASHINGTON TRAVEL SERIES]

At the Smithsonian National Zoo, other than the major attraction of the pandas featuring the large complex of the Giant Panda House (see the pandas before they head back to China for good by end of this December 2023), there are also other animals around the zoo for the visitors to see.

Thus, if you are not really a panda fan, there are still other reasons for you and your loved for a visit. And the BEST part? This zoo is FREE admission! Washington DC has so many free admission activities for people to do. Hence, #MyDCcool! Just think about how much you save as a family when visiting Washington DC!

I took an Uber to the zoo and it conveniently dropped me off right at the entrance. But I also noticed there are parking lots located right beside the it. You may want to research to find out the parking fee and see if they also require you to pre-paid for a spot. It’s always good to plan ahead!

At the zoo, I saw many animals from around the world. I saw cheetah, bison, ostrich, elephants, antelope and many others.

Out of all the animals that I saw, I really like the zebras. I am fascinated by the black and white stripes on them.

I do have to say that this zoo isn’t super gigantic as compared to other zoos that I had visited that features many more sections but that also mean I will have to spend the entire day to roam around. So, this Smithsonian National Zoo does its job and it was good enough for me to roam around and have something to do in Washington DC.

MoVernie TIP: Although the zoo is FREE admission, you do have to go on its website to register and sign up for FREE e-tix for entry. I think this system is implemented to avoid overcrowding and for crowd control.
