During my stay at the Riggs Washington DC Hotel (Riggs Hotel), I was provided with complimentary daily breakfast so I want to maximize my breakfast experience here at Cafe Riggs, just to order different items each day to see how each food option taste.
As I finally got off my comfy bed, brushed my teeth, got dressed, I took the elevator down, just a few steps within my hotel, I got seated at Cafe Riggs by the friendly staff.
Surprisingly, on a regular week day, this Cafe Riggs was jam packed. There were so many people here enjoying their breakfast. I could see other hotel guests dining here. And I could also see some locals enjoying their breakfast here. And I also see suits people having business meetings while enjoying their breakfast. It feels like this is a “happening” place with people from all walks of life.
Let me tell you how addictive the coffee being served here. I luv the black coffee here! It’s freshly brewed on demand and it’s just so tasty and flavourful.
In its website, it states that Cafe Riggs is……”In the grand tradition of French cuisine, Café Riggs presents a contemporary American brasserie that reimagines classic dishes within a vibrant setting.”
I do have to emphasize the amazing hospitality here at the Riggs Hotel. I arrived early in the morning from Toronto and arrived at Riggs Hotel at around 10:00 AM, that’s quite an early morning arrive that most likely, my room may not be ready but I took a chance and asked the concierge anyway. She told me that she will try her best to accommodate my early check-in and a staff was cleaning up and setting up my room for the time being. Meanwhile, she told me to go to Cafe Riggs to get a breakfast so I can enjoy and wait for my room. That was a great suggestion by her as I enjoyed my black freshly brewed coffee with a deliciously freshly baked chocolate croissant.
During another morning, I ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, a glass of water and my beloved black coffee to complete the trifecta. And I ordered a power breakfast. It was nicely prepared and what a great way to kickstart the morning!
