During our media coverage of the Porter’s inaugural flight from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Halifax Stanfield Airport (YHZ), we stayed at 2 different hotels as our hotel stay. One of them was The Hollis Halifax – a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel, which is located at the heart of the Downtown Halifax. It’s conveniently located close to restaurants, bars, museums and the waterfront Halifax.
Now, I must admit, the outside of the building looks very concrete and a bit cold, but don’t let that outer appearance fool you as it’s very inviting, welcoming, modern and stylish once you get inside the main lobby. The flowers and fireplace made the place so cozy and warmth!
I like how the taxi/Uber stopped right in front of this hotel, you take a few steps and you are right at the main hotel lobby.
Moreover, there is a ramp at the front of the hotel so it’s wheel chair accessible plus if anyone needs to push a baby stroller or needs to stroll their big luggage, this ramp is super useful.
We luv the location! Everything was walkable. In our other MoVernie BLOG, we showcased to you what our hotel suite looked like during our hotel stay here at The Hollis Halifax. In this blog post, we will show you the lobby and other parts of the hotel so you get a sense what this hotel looks like outside of the hotel room if you choose to stay at this property.
There is a lounge area that serves breakfast in the morning. However, I got to admit that…unless you really don’t want to go outside at all or breakfast is included in your hotel package, I would prefer to walk across the street to the Java Cafe to grab some pastries and cafe. Or just go to the Arthur’s Table Grocery Store to grab some fruits or sandwiches. That’s just my take. Otherwise, you do have options dining at the hotel.
