During my entire Washington DC Press Trip, the tourism board provided me with the accommodation at the Riggs Washington DC (Riggs Hotel). Let me tell you, I luv it! I have an incredible stay here at the hotel! I highly recommend anyone to choose Riggs Hotel the next time they visit Washington DC.

For the record, Riggs Hotel went above & beyond to ensure that I have a wonderful stay here. They provided me with complimentary breakfast daily and hosted me to enjoy a few cocktails at its Speakeasy bar called “Silver Lyan”.

I have to say, even if I wasn’t hosted, here, the next time I visit Washington DC at my own leisure, I will still choose Riggs Hotel.

First of all, let’s talk about convenience! Location! Location! Location! Riggs Hotel is located at the heart of the Downtown Washington DC, everything is close by and so walkable. Across the hotel, there are a few popular well-known restaurants and bars, including the fine dining Succotash fine dining restaurant. And The Smith that is a great bar serving comfort American food. And Ultrabar gets hopping with lineups of people trying to get to the dance club, which I went and it was jam packed with multi-levels with different DJs spinning different genre of music.

Across the Riggs Hotel, there is the Smithsonian American Art Museum which is free admission. And if you want fast food, the famous Shake Shack is just across the hotel.

If you want Michelin Star restaurants, which I was being hosted at the amazing “Cranes”, it’s just a short walk from Riggs Hotel. I also dined at another Michelin restaurant for lunch called “Zaytinya by Jose Andres”, fabulous food and interior design.

Furthermore, I walk 1 street over from Riggs Hotel, and there was an outdoor block party hosted by Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library and the library itself is fabulous. I highly recommend you to walk the stairs to appreciate the architecture of the design and enjoy the view from top down onto the streets of Washington DC.

And if you want some Asian food, the Chinatown is just a few blocks from Riggs Hotel. I went there to dine at for Kura Revolving Sushi and ramen and bars and cafe. And if you luv NBA, the Capital One, home of the Washington Wizards is right in Chinatown. During my visit, there was a huge crowd of people waiting to get inside for a Latin concert.

Again, location, location, location! Riggs Hotel has it all! Imagine the amount of money you saved when you are staying at a hotel that is super close and walkable with restaurants, bars, museums, art galleries, sightseeing landmarks and shopping!

And let’s talk about the Riggs Hotel itself, this hotel was once a national bank building, so the hotel transformed the bank into a modern, luxurious hotel stay, yet, they retain many of the bank interior, materials, decor to maintain its rich history. The moment I walked into the hotel, I see high ceilings, the check-in counter is formerly a bank counter, so you still see the secured metal bars in between the counters.

You can see the marble floors, walls and the bar and restaurants inside is marvelous. Lots of natural sunlight penetrating into the open space. Lots of nice comfy chairs and furniture. You can sit at the bar, high stools at other tables, low chairs or sofas at the corner. You will enjoy this place!

And this hotel isn’t just a popular tourist spot, the locals come here to enjoy a nice breakfast/brunch. They come here to enjoy the bar and many drive nice cars and parked it outside the hotel and come in to the Speakeasy Bar “Silver Lyan” to enjoy a lovely evening of good vibes and amazing cocktails.

As for my hotel room, every room has a signature fridge that resembles a bank vault. You got to check our my MoVernie Hotel Tour video to see for yourself of my room.

All-in-all, I had a wonderful experience here at the Riggs Hotel and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who are visiting Washington DC.
