Le Méridien Houston Downtown – Great Location & Amazing Stay [HOUSTON TRAVEL SERIES]

0

During our Press Trip visit to Houston, Texas, Houston First Travel & Tourism Board reserved 2 rooms for me and my team to stay at the Le Meridien Downtown Houston.

Our 1st impression of this Le Meridien hotel? Location! Location! Location! Excellent location conveniently situated to so many restaurants and bars around the downtown area. It was so close for us to get to the famous Comicpalooza that we just walked over. And even if we need to take an Uber to other places, everywhere we needed to go are within 10-15 min ride radius.

There was valet parking (if you need) right at the hotel door step with friendly staff there to greet you and helped you park your vehicle at the parking lot right next to the hotel. There was a cafe and restaurant right at the ground floor of the hotel as well.

However, the check-in area was located on the 2nd floor and you would need to take the elevator up to get there.

Another thing we realized was how popular the rooftop bar of this hotel was. Hotel guests have access to go up to the rooftop called “Z on 23” and enjoy the beautiful skyline of Downtown Houston.

We chatted with some of the people at the rooftop and realized many locals like to dress up and come here just to enjoy the view and the drinks. You know it’s a good spot when locals luv to come here.

Our 2 separate rooms were located right beside each other and we had our own section as these were the only 2 rooms in same corridor. We didn’t ask for it but greatly appreciated the thoughtfulness by the hotel.

For MoKenny and Steven’s room, there were 2 queen size beds. The room was quite large, and that’s what Texas often very proud of “Texas always BIGGER”. It looked very modern, clean, tidy and organized. The bathroom was very nice and brightly lit as well.

As for my room, it’s a huge room with lots of walking space. My room had a door inside that was connected to the other room where Steven and MoKenny were staying, so most often, we will just open the door and we chatted and planned for our itinerary and our game plan for the day & evening.

I really like it! I got a huge king size bed. The mattress and pillows were super comfy.

Special shoutout to Houston First for dropping off these lovely swag bags to our hotel. Thank you!

There was a safe which I always appreciate as I want to put all of my valuables and passport in there for my peace of mind.

There was a big flat screen TV with an office desk that was perfect to put my laptop. At one corner, it was my favourite spot in the room as there was a nice comfy chair with a window looking outside. I like the natural sunlight penetrating into the room.

The air con was operating smoothly and quietly.

On the other side of the room, there was a coffee station and a mini fridge.

The closet was huge with enough hooks to place my wardrobes. What’s special and unique about this closet was that…if offered unique compartments and shelves where I can compartmentalized my socks, underwear, t-shirts in various bins. So, it’s super organized and I really like the setup.

Lastly, the bathroom was clean, bright, modern and stylish with unique wall-paper. I do like the black & white colour scheme. There was no bathtub which was ok as I usually prefer a nice shower with hot steam water and it did the trick.

The sink counter was in good size and allowed me to place my toiletries around the sink.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here at Le Meridien Houston Downtown and highly recommend it to anyone as it’s conveniently located at the heart of Downtown Houston. It’s super walkable to the George R. Brown Convention Center and it’s just easily accessible to restaurants and bars nearby.

The only minor drawbacks were the lack of elevators and most often, it took a long time to wait for the elevators. Just imagine when locals come here to the rooftop bar and hotel guests need to check in on the 2nd floor and there were only 3 elevators to service so many variety of guests? It was a real pain for the long wait at times.

Our hotel stay experience at Le Méridien Houston Downtown during this press trip was provided by Houston First. However, as always, the opinions expressed in this post is entirely my own.
